Academic Support

Ormond values its sense of community and as an academic community, we invite you to share in the intellectual and academic opportunities of College life.

The great strength of the Ormond academic program lies in the high level of student participation and the enthusiastic contributions students make to the intellectual life of the College.

In Ormond you’ll be part of a lively and diverse academic community made up of international scholars, university professors and lecturers, and undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, all drawn from a wide range of academic disciplines and faculties. The College welcomes distinguished academic visitors from interstate and overseas. Many tutors are resident in the College. Some students in the final years of their undergraduate or graduate degree courses act as mentors for younger students, helping with the transition from secondary school to university in a variety of practical ways.

Ormond will give you a stimulating and dynamic environment where you will be able to talk and debate with people at the cutting edge of their discipline, where you can develop your understanding of leading research initiatives and current debate on global issues, and where it will be possible for you to build personal links with researchers and teachers. You will be encouraged to participate in discussions and debates and contribute to College publications, to develop your ideas and opinions on a range of issues and to strengthen your voice, so that you make your own contribution to this vibrant community..
