The Senior Common Room (SCR) plays a leading role in the intellectual, cultural and social life of the College. Members of the SCR are the cornerstone of the College’s academic program, providing tutorials and individual consultations in a wide range of subjects, leading seminars on topics of general interest and fostering learning in a variety of informal contexts.
You’ll come into contact with both resident and non-resident tutors through the academic program but you can also meet them and other SCR members at meals in Hall, or by going to SCR seminars and suppers, social gatherings and music events. Members of the SCR regularly contribute to College publications and this offers you yet another way of getting to know something about them.
In addition to resident members, the College attracts visitors from both interstate and overseas universities. Some of our academic visitors participate in the College seminar program and many done regularly in Hall, so that there are numerous opportunities for you to meet and talk with them.
