Annual Giving 2017

Ormond has always had an important role to play to ensure that the extraordinary opportunities College life creates are accessible.

That role is as important as it has ever been. In playing that role this year, we are focusing on making sure that the College continues to be accessible to the next generation as well as for those whose families are new to the opportunity of Ormond.

How to make a difference

Access Scholarship

The Access Scholarship will create a pathway for exceptional students to make sure that their financial circumstance are never a barrier to realise their potential. For many of these students financial support from Ormond may be the only way they can attend University. It is inspiring to see what these students have achieved through their secondary schooling, please join with us to provide a life changing opportunity for them.

Hugh Collins Scholarship

For many students coming from government schools, the cost of college fees are simply beyond consideration. They are often the brightest and hardest-working students at their schools, and they aspire to a great education, successful careers, and to give back to their communities.

Pompey Elliott Rural Scholarship

The Harold ‘Pompey’ Elliott Rural Scholarship enables students from regional or rural Australia, in need of financial support, to come to Ormond. The Scholarship honours Ormondian Brigadier General Harold ‘Pompey’ Elliott, Australia’s great WWI fighting general who was famous for the care he had for his soldiers. He came to Ormond from his home in West Charlton outside Ballarat.

Indigenous Scholarship

Nearly all our Indigenous students require scholarship support. Help enable Indigenous students to come to Ormond where the strong pastoral care, community environment and academic support enables them to make the most of their university experience.

Special Project: Dining Hall Roof Restoration

The Dining Hall is a very special place for all Ormondians and has always been the centre of College life. In recent years, as a result of the generosity of our alumni and our community we have been able to raise funds to restore the Vestibule entrance, Main Building stone and Picken Lawn.

This year we are looking for your support to help begin the restoration of a part of the Dining Hall we rarely see but is critical to the preservation of the building.
