College Life
Your Bedroom
Bedrooms in Ormond vary in style and size throughout the four residential buildings. First year students usually live in Picken Court, McCaughey Court or O’Wing, while more senior students live for the most part in Main Building. Students are allocated their bedroom in the first year, but in later years they are able to indicate a preference for a particular room, or rooms. A seniority system, based upon year level at University and years in residence, guides the room allocation system.

Residents can decorate their rooms as they wish, within sensible guidelines. Thus the bedrooms, which are used for conference guests over the summer break, are transformed within days of the start of the academic year into the personal spaces or ‘homes’ for over 300 Ormond residents, and as such, express each person’s individuality.
  • Each student has a single room with own telephone, voice mail, internet connection and heating.
  • Each room is supplied with a bed, a pillow and a mattress protector.
  • Students need to supply their own bed linen and study lamp.
  • Senior students may have the option of an extra room through sharing a study.
  • Bathrooms, which are unisex, are shared on a 1 bathroom to 5 person (approx) ratio.
