Live at Ormond

As the largest College of the University of Melbourne, with over 340 undergraduate and graduate students in 2010, Ormond is a dynamic and vibrant community with a rich cultural, academic, social and sporting calendar.

Our communal life is underpinned by the Students’ Club. The Club is run by students, for students, and produces an extraordinarily varied program of activities, events and projects.

Students live in a variety of heritage-listed buildings, with dedicated accommodation available for graduates. 21 excellent meals are provided each week and are included in the College’s fees. The College also has extensive recreational and academic facilities for the enjoyment of residents.

Living in Ormond gives you the opportunity to make the most of your undergraduate/graduate experience because:

  • you have the opportunity to explore and develop your own potential through the many activities possible within the College
  • your academic studies are enhanced through the extensive tutorial program, and daily interaction with members of an academic community
  • you are able to share experiences with a wide range of people offering different perspectives
  • you will develop lifelong friendships, and make contacts which may enhance your career prospects
  • the College provides support in the transition from secondary to tertiary education
