Meals

Most meals are taken in the College’s Dining Hall.

Breakfast and lunch are available in the servery. Breakfast includes cereals, toast, fruit, porridge during winter, and hot food most days. Lunch includes a self-service sandwich and salad bar as well as a number of hot options.

Three times a week, dinner is ’formal’, with academic gowns, table service, and a High Table attended by the Master or Deans and college tutors. Other dinners are servery style. Barbeques are sometimes held in the quadrangle or on Picken Lawn. For evening meals, it is possible to arrange an early or late meal to accommodate late classes or Student Service obligations.

On Sundays, an extremely popular brunch is served.

A variety of food is available at each meal, including vegetarian and halal options. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated. Prospective students should discuss any requirements they have during their selection interview.

During 2010, the College will be developing a café-style eatery in the Junior Common Room, which will make meals and snacks available to students at non-meal times.

Student Service

As part of their commitment to the community, undergraduate students undertake two hours of Student Service every fortnight. Student Service activities are serving and clearing in Hall, or working in the pantry. Student Service times and duties are allocated by the Student Service co-ordinators.
