Bicycle & Car Parking
Car parking is extremely limited. Any student car parking is allocated on the basis of need and seniority. Generally first year students are not allocated car parking. There is an on-site bike shed and bicycle hoops throughout the College grounds.
The College Chapel is located on the first floor of Main Building and is used for a number of community services throughout the year. Services of prayer and reflection for students are held on Thursday evenings.
Copying and Printing
A multifunction device, with scanning, colour copying and printing facilities is available for student use in the Academic Centre. Other black-and-white and colour laser printers are located throughout Ormond’s buildings. A fax machine are also available for student use at Reception. Fax, copying and printing services are charged at a reasonable rate based on usage.
The College maintains extensive gardens for student enjoyment. There are two large lawns (Wyselaskie and Picken) as well as maintained gardens lining the main drive and surrounding the buildings.
All student rooms at Ormond are networked, with high-speed access to the internet. Wireless internet access is also available throughout the entire College campus. Internet usage is unlimited with a flat rate of $125 per Semester for residents and $62.50 per semester for non-residents.
Students bring their own computers or use the computer labs at the University. The College does not provide computers for student use. IT assistance is available through the IT subcommittee under the direction of the IT Manager.
Shared coin-operated washing machines and driers are located on the floors of each building. Students purchase their own washing powder.
Lounges & TV
The College's main student lounge is the JCR Lounge adjacent to the Café. There is a Sun Room in Main Building, and lounge areas in the Academic Centre. The TV room, equipped with large-screen television, DVD and video facilities, is located adjacent to the JCR.
The College’s music facilities include a grand piano, pipe organ, upright pianos and a drum kit, housed in four practice rooms. Learn more about music as part of life at Ormond.
