Graduates
Community

Our graduate community is a special part of the larger Ormond resident community, as part of the College’s One College, Five Communities plan. Graduates share in the general life of the College, participating in sports, music, events, parties along with our undergraduates and senior academic residents. As the largest college in Melbourne with around 350 residents, Ormond is a dynamic and friendly place for graduates to live and learn.

Graduate students become members of the Students’ Club, which runs many of the College’s events and activities. Graduate students also form the Middle Common Room, or MCR, which is the special common room for our graduate student population. The MCR organises events such as dinners with speakers, social functions, and meetings with professionals working in the fields relevant to our graduate population.

“The Ormond graduate community not only supports your academic life, but allows you to be active in circles that would normally not be accessible, be it student leadership, the performing arts or sports. While there are plenty of ways to be involved in college community, ultimately you are given plenty of opportunity to shape your uni life in a way you see fit, and still be able to come home to a 300+ person family.”
