2016 Annual Giving
"Ormond has allowed me to meet incredible people from all over the world, facilitated my academic pathway and has been a friendly and wonderful community. Without financial assistance, none of these opportunities would have been possible for me."
Natasha Kennedy-Read (Arts 1)
Having sustained support makes a real difference to Ormond and its students.
This year we will continue our focus on the funding of scholarships to keep Ormond accessible and our ongoing commitment to the maintenance of our heritage buildings and gardens. Our special initiatives for this year are:
Macfarlane Burnet Scholarship - Ormond has an ever increasing graduate student community, some of whom are engaged in the frontier of medical research. The new Macfarlane Burnet Scholarship will honour Nobel Prize winner, Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet, one of the College’s great alumni who came to Ormond on a scholarship, and later pioneered research in the areas of microbiology and immunology. The Scholarship will support highly talented PhD students in undertaking science and medical research while living at Ormond.
Other scholarships you can support are:
- The Hugh Collins Government School Scholarship
- Pompey Elliott Rural Scholarship
- General Scholarships
- Indigenous Scholarships
Picken Lawn Restoration - Ormond’s distinctive buildings and extensive gardens make the College a beautiful place for all to enjoy. Last year the Ormond community contributed towards the repair and replacement of the heavily weathered pinnacles on the front of the Main Building. This year we turn our attention to the College’s beloved Picken Lawn which is tired and worn from years of heavy use, and in need of major work. With your help we can restore it to its former glory.
In 2016 we invite you to give generously to make a difference to our College and the lives of Ormond students. Your support is very much appreciated.
