Supporting Ormond

From its foundation, made possible by the vision and generosity of Francis Ormond, the College has been supported and sustained by philanthropy. This proud tradition of giving continues today. The College relies on its own community for the significant support it needs for the development of first class educational and residential facilities for its current and future students.

Funds raised ensure that we remain at the forefront of residential education in Australia by:

  • maintaining, updating and expanding our facilities and programs
  • offering a range of funded scholarships and bursaries

The Council seeks to ensure that Ormond maintains its pre-eminent position into the twenty-first century through a careful policy of upgrading facilities, while retaining the capacity to attract and support a diverse and talented community of students and tutors. None of this would be possible without the support of the Ormond community.

The College has a number of giving programs:

In 2009 the College is focussed on raising the philanthropic funds to enable us to build an Academic Centre. The MacFarland Building will be completely redeveloped into a modern well-resourced Academic Centre to provide improved and expanded facilities and integrated services in Library, IT and information access for residents.

All gifts to support the College's advancement are tax deductible within Australia. Alumni and friends based in the USA and the UK should email the College to discuss particular tax deductibility arrangements established within those countries.
