Renate Kamener Oration – guest speaker Noel Pearson
Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we have postponed the event until March 2022. While we could have proceeded with an online-only format this year, we have made the decision, in consultation with Noel Pearson, to postpone the Oration to a time when we can be more confident in our ability to host an in-person event, in order to ensure an exceptional experience for all of our guests.
Noel’s Oration is titled ‘J’accuse: Australia’s great crime against the jobless’, and will cover the perpetuation of the passive welfare underclass, and the urgent need for justice with a universal Job Guarantee.
This year’s Oration will be held in the Dining Hall, with the option to attend virtually. All ticket sales and donations will go to ensuring more Indigenous students can achieve their tertiary education ambitions and call Ormond home while studying at the University of Melbourne.
Guests attending in-person will be charged $30 for general admission or $15 for students. The virtual option is free, however tax-deductible donations from all attendees are welcomed to help support Indigenous Scholarships.
Donations made via credit card will incur a merchant fee of 1.5%.
