Associate Professor Jane Freemantle honoured in 2020 Australia Day awards

Congratulations to Associate Professor Jane Freemantle OAM on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the recent Australia Day Honours. An exceptional achievement focused on her service to medical research in the field of population health.

Ormond College Master, Lara McKay said, “this award is a fitting tribute to an extraordinary individual. Jane’s continued support of Ormond and in particular, our Indigenous Program and the Freemantle Fellowship, has had a remarkable impact on hundreds of Ormondians”.

Current Ormond College Freemantle Fellow, Sofia Rios said of the news, “while this recognition focuses on Jane’s research work, I cannot help but to also celebrate Jane for all the work she does in support of Australia’s First Nations”.

The entire Ormond community extends their sincere gratitude to Jane for her support and mentorship within our community and congratulations on such an incredible honour.
