Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022

The College extends its congratulations to six alumni who have been recognised in the recent Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Johnston CSC (OC 1995) has been awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross for outstanding achievement in the application of exceptional skills, judgement, leadership and dedication in the advancement of counter-intelligence and intelligence collection, analysis, assessment and dissemination within the Australian Defence Force.

Ms Nyadol Nyuon OAM (OC 2012) has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to human rights and refugee women.

Clinical Associate Professor Kate Stern AO (OC 1981) has been made an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to gynaecology, to reproductive medicine and fertility research, and to the community.

Dr Chris Sutherland OAM (OC 1971) has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to medicine as a general surgeon.

Dr Mark Veitch PSM (OC 1977) has been awarded a Public Service Medal for making a significant contribution to the Tasmanian Government’s response to COVID-19 in exceptionally challenging circumstances.

Mr Bruce Wilson OAM (OC 1964) has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to athletics.
